How does Alpha-Stim compare with TENS machines?

TENS machines use a much higher current than used by Alpha-Stim. This makes them effective for short term pain relief, as they confuse the nervous system so that the pain message does not reach the brain. This level of current, however, is unable to bring about healing of injured tissue as it is incompatible with cellular bioelectricity.

The pain relief of Alpha-Stim works very differently. The microcurrent resonates at a cellular level so electrical potential is repaired in injured tissue, improving healing time, increasing waste removal, reducing swelling and reducing pain.

Furthermore, Alpha-Stim can also be applied to the head. This would be impossible and dangerous with the level of current produced by a TENS machine. The result of the head application of Alpha-stim is that you have an effective reduction of over-sensitivity in the pain centre in the brain which is where many types of physical conditions originate.
